WHAT IS 3D PRINTING?
3D Printing is the ability to “build” solid objects or shapes using a 3D printer. HOW DOES 3D PRINTING WORK?
As opposed to paper based printers, 3D Printers “build” in not only the X and Y axis, but also, the Z axis. There are many methods used by 3D Printers, however, the most common method is where plastic (generally ABS or PLA) is melted and squirted under pressure, layer by layer, to gradually build up an object. Each time the print head moves past, it adds an additional (tiny) layer of material. As the layers build up, the object begins to take shape. This method is called “Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM)”.

These 3D Printers either use lasers or projected images to create a solid model from the resin liquid.
